Disclaimer.
This page explains what this website is for, what it is not, and how a client relationship with us is properly formed. It is here so you know exactly where you stand before you rely on anything you read.
Please read this page carefully. By using this website, you accept the terms set out below. If anything here is unclear, contact us before acting on information you have found on this site.
General information only
Before your property goes to market, so there are no surprises once an offer comes inEverything published on this website — including our service pages, guides, checklists, articles and answers to common questions — is general information. It is written to help you understand the property process. It is not legal advice, and it is not tailored to your circumstances.
Property transactions turn on their own facts. The contract in front of you, the property itself, your finance position and your timing all change what the right answer is. General information cannot account for any of that.
Before you sign a contract, make a decision or take a step that affects your position, obtain advice for your specific matter..
No client relationship is created by this website
Reading this website, downloading a resource, completing an enquiry form, sending us an email or speaking with us on the phone does not make you a client of Quintess Property Law.
A client relationship begins only when we have carried out our conflict and identity checks, issued you with a written costs agreement, and you have accepted that agreement. Until that has happened, we are not acting for you and we are not responsible for your matter.
This matters practically. If a deadline is approaching, please do not assume it is being managed on your behalf until we have confirmed in writing that we are acting for you.
Information you send us before we act for you
We may need to run a conflict check before we can accept your matter. For that reason, information you send us before we are formally engaged is not treated as confidential in the way a client’s information is, and sending it does not prevent us from acting for another party.
Please do not send us sensitive or time-critical material until we have confirmed we are able to act for you.
Accuracy and currency
We take care with what we publish, and we review this website as the law and practice change. Even so, information here may become out of date, and no page on this site is a substitute for advice on the current position as it applies to you.
We do not warrant that the content of this website is complete, current or free from error, and we accept no responsibility for any loss arising from reliance on it.
Fees, costs and third-party charges
We Any fees shown on this website are our professional fees, presented inclusive of GST. They are indicative and subject to confirmation in your written costs agreement.
Disbursements — searches, registration fees, duty, and other charges payable to third parties — are separate. They are passed on to you at cost, are set by the relevant authority or provider rather than by us, and can change without notice.
The figures published on this site do not constitute a quote. Your costs agreement is the only statement of what you will pay.
External links
Where we link to another website, we do so because we think it may be useful. We do not control those sites, we do not review their content, and a link is not an endorsement. We accept no responsibility for anything on a site we link to.
